in Thailand are in forms of ฿10, ฿5 and ฿1, and 50 and 25 satang.
Currency exchange in Thailand
Any foreign currencies can be exchanged at any bank as they usually have the best rates. Currency can also be changed a hotels and bureaux de changes which can be found in larger towns of Thailand. Outside of the large towns and tourist areas in Thailand any note over ฿ can be harder to exchange therefore all of travellers are advised to try and carry small change with them at all times.
Debit/credit cards and ATMs in Thailand
The following credit/debit cards are widely accepted throughout the whole of Thailand: Master Card, Visa and American Express. A number of ATMs can be found in all of the major cities and nearly all of the provincial banks.
Traveller’s cheques in Thailand
Traveller’s cheques are accepted by all of the banks, large hotels and shops throughout Thailand. So that you avoid any additional rate charges, travellers are advised to take traveller’s cheques in Pounds Sterling, Euros or US Dollars.
